in full transparency
It is very important for the Calmos Abricos team to be completely transparent about the manufacture of our zero-waste accessories and the life of our company.
(Almost) zero-waste production
At Calmos Abricos we offer accessories for a zero-waste daily life. We also put this objective at the heart of our own production.
How do we do it exactly? First of all we try to use upcycled fabrics as much as possible. We give a second life to fabrics from the clothing industry and recycling centers. However, for the moment we do not use 100% upcycled fabrics, especially for sponges (cotton pads, wipes, solid cosmetic bags, turban and kitchen towels) and certain cotton fabrics.

Using only upcycled fabric is our main goal for 2021.

To have an almost zero-waste production we recycle our own fabrics. With the largest scraps of fabric, we make accessories such as cotton make-up removers or solid cosmetic pouches. With the smallest scraps we make the links for the bags, for the labels etc.
Thoughtful choices, in accordance with our principles
All of our products are handmade by Camille, in Paris. We choose either upcycled fabrics or certified organic fabrics and finally Oeko Tex certified fabrics.

One of the choices we made at the very beginning of our adventure concerns shipping packaging. We have opted for letter-size boxes to optimize space as much as possible and therefore zero loss of space. Calmos Abricos packaging is made in Europe from recycled, recyclable, biodegradable and compostable cardboard. It is FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) certified. The ink is vegetable. And finally, with every order we place for shipping boxes, trees are planted with One Tree Planted.

For larger orders (a big thank you), we use boxes from our recycling system. They are not very beautiful but they have the merit of existing and this avoids the use of large new shipping boxes.

We still have work to do, especially for labels (the number of which we are reducing per order) and thank you cards. It's still a mission for 2023!
Transparent commitments
Transparency is the central point of our commitments. It is essential for us to inform you about the choices we make and why we make them.
​
During the year 2020 and the beginning of 2021 we made several donations to associations (Secours Populaire, La Croix Rouge etc.). We have also supported new projects in several fields (ecology, feminism, etc.)
For the year 2023 we will set up monthly and permanent donations according to a percentage of our profits. We would very much like to involve you in the choice of the association. We are still thinking about the implementation.
